High Court of Manipur Recruitment 2024: The High Court of Manipur has invited application from willing and eligible candidates for engagement of the following posts of Verifiers under the AI-Assisted Legal Translation Advisory Committee, High Court of Manipur and translation of judgments of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India and Hon’ble High Court of Manipur from English to Manipuri (Roman alphabet) on a Work from Home basis. Details of the Recruitment:
1. For Translator:
a. Work Description:
- The empaneled translators will be engaged strictly on Project Basis under the AI-Assisted Legal Advisory Committee of the High Court of Manipur to translate the reportable judgments of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India and Hon’ble High Court of Manipur from English to Manipuri (Roman alphabet).
b. Educational Qualifications and other requirements:
- Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and should have proficiency in both English and Manipuri.
- Proficiency in Computer Applications is mandatory.
- Preference will be given to candidates holding a law degree with prior translation experience
c. Remuneration:
- Empanelled translators will receive remuneration at a rate of Rs. 200 per page (based on the number of pages in the original English judgments as uploaded on the official website of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India and Hon’ble High Court of Manipur)
d. Age Limit:
- There is no age limitation.
e. Mode of Selection:
- A Written Test, where candidates will translate a few paragraphs from a judgment of the Hon’ble Supreme Court/High Court into Manipuri (Roman alphabet), and
- Shortlisted candidates will be called for Personal Interaction.
Note:-
- Al-Assisted Legal Translation Committee reserves the right to select and/ or empanel individuals as Translators.
- The empanelment of Translators will be strictly performance-based, with continued inclusion contingent on meeting the required standards. Failure to adhere to these standards may result in de-empanelment at any stage of the project.
2. For Verifier (Meetei Mayek):
a. Work Description:
- The empanelled Verifiers (Meetei Mayek) will be engaged strictly on Project Basis under the scheme of the AI-Assisted Legal Advisory Committee of the High Court of Manipur to examine the correctness of the Meetei Mayek scripts of the translated judgments of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India and Hon’ble High Court of Manipur and making such corrections as may be required for the purpose of ensuring correct spelling, etc.
b. Eligibility Criteria:
- A Master’s degree in Manipuri (Meetei Mayek) with proficiency in English and computer applications.
- Proficiency in typing Meetei Mayek script using appropriate software and tools.
Note:
- Preference will be given to candidates holding a law degree and prior translation experience.
c. Remuneration/ wages:
- Verifiers (Meetei Mayek) will receive remuneration at the rate of Rs. 30 per page (based on the number of pages in the original English judgments).

e. Mode of Selection:
- A Written Test in which a candidate is required to transliterate a translated judgment in Roman Script (of approximately 800 words) into Meetei Mayek.
- Shortlisted candidates will be called for Personal Interaction.

3. For Verifier (Roman):
a. Work Description:
- The empanelled Verifiers (Roman) will be engaged strictly on Project Basis under the scheme of the AI-Assisted Legal Advisory Committee of the High Court of Manipur to verify the Manipuri (Roman Alphabet) translated judgments of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India and Hon’ble High Court of Manipur and make corrections to words, and reframe sentences and paragraphs to convey the same meaning as the original judgment in English.
b. Eligibility Criteria:
- Person having law degree and prior translation experience; or
- Person with translation experience in the form of translation works undertaken in association with Sahitya Academy or other Government Institutions; or
- Professional translators (serving or retired) employed by the Government or its Institutions; or
- Professional translators having credible translation experience and works to their credit; or
- Lecturers or Professors (serving or retired) with experience in translation.
- Candidates with proficiency in computer application.
Note:
- Preference will be given to candidates holding a law degree with prior translation experience.
c. Remuneration/ wages:
- Verifiers (Roman) will receive remuneration (based on the number of pages in the original English judgments) at the rate of:
(i) Rs. 50 per page in the case of translated judgment with approximate accuracy of 80% and above; and
(ii) Rs. 100 per page in the case of translated judgments with approximate accuracy below 80%.

- A Written Test, requiring candidates to translate a few paragraphs of a Supreme Court/ High Court judgment into Manipuri (Roman).
- Shortlisted candidates will be called for Personal Interaction.

Step 2:
- Click on the post you want to register for i.e. Verifiers (Meetei Mayek) for those applying for Verifiers (Meetei Mayek) (CANDIDATES MUST USE THEIR VALID PERSONAL E-MAIL ID & PHONE NUMBER)
Step 3.
- Upload a scanned copy of your recent photograph and fill up in all the necessary details in the online registration form.
